Artist Bio

Candace Harrell is a soulful singer with a lyrical voice and undiluted passion. Her messages of love, life and hope resonate within her music.

Candace is presently working on her demo that consists of twelve self-penned songs. You can find a tinge of gospel flavor in So Safe and a little jazz in Single. She will always leave you curious and wanting more with her infectious range of style.

On December 25, 1973, Candace was born to two nightclub musicians: Joyce, a vocalist and Carnell, a guitarist. Who knew this union would beget an aspiring artist who wanted to be just like them, passionate about music. Candace learned at an early age that music is a gift from God. She started singing at the age of six in the little children’s church choir. Church music became and still is a huge influence in regards to how she writes and conveys a song. Favorite gospel artists consisted of The Clark Sisters, The Hawkins and The Thomas Whitfield Singers. In 1992, she went on to C.S.U.F. to pursue her bachelor’s in music with an emphasis in classical vocal performance. It was there that she broadened her musicality as an artist. She then began working with and writing for various gospel groups like Sovereign, O.C. Prayze and the Second Baptist Church of Santa Ana, California. Although Candace loves gospel music, it was not until 2004 that she began composing secular music. Influences like Kenny Loggins, Minnie Riperton, Donnie Hathaway and Stevie Wonder began to pull at her creative juices and eagerness to sing R&B.

It is with anticipation that Candace hopes to break into the music industry with success and with the purpose of touching lives.
