About
Artist Bio

One Click Culture began when guitarist/vocalist Todd Evans grew tired of the singer/songwriter open mic circuit in central New York. Todd had previously played in several bands including Magna Carta recording artists "Tempest" - a highly regarded Celtic rock/progressive rock band from Oakland, CA. "I just knew I had to get a band together to give the songs the proper setting" says Evans of his decision to leave the solo performances behind.

Rob Lipari joined on drums in 2008 and after a string of bass players Michael Wu joined the band in early 2010. One Click Culture's current lineup debuted on April 14th, opening for Tempest in Binghamton, NY. "It was great to be back on stage with my good friends in Tempest and to be able to do that with One Click Culture was very special."

The music of One Click Culture draws on a wide range of influences including rock, folk, funk, pop and jazz and has been described as progressive pop fusion. "We all enjoy playing challenging material but we also realize that for audiences to enjoy the music there has to be a connection beyond the intellectual. We try to go straight for the gut reaction first and include enough layers that you can listen repeatedly and still find something new to catch your ear each time."

Todd Evans has been writing and performing music for more than twenty years. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1993 and formed a progressive rock band that performed in the Boston area for several years before he moved to the San Francisco Bay Aera.

In California Todd worked for several area studios as an engineer/producer, served a stint on Metallica’s crew and finally joined forces with Magna Carta recording artists, the popular Celtic rock band Tempest. From 1999 to 2001 Todd performed throughout the United States and Europe with Tempest. During that time Todd appeared on two Tempest recordings – “Tempest – Live at the Philadelphia Folk Festival” (1999) and “Balance” (2001).

Todd’s contributions to “Balance” were met with positive reviews including this quote from Dave Sleger at ALL MUSIC GUIDE - “Balance is perhaps Tempest’s most hard-rocking effort to date, particularly due to Evans’ crunching electric guitar. At times he conjures up comparisons to Richie Blackmore; other times the virtuosity and eclecticism of Larry Cordolla surfaces. Evans’ two instrumental numbers, “Dance of the Sand Witches” and “Battle Mountain Breakdown”, are scorching world beat rockers that needn’t take a back seat to Jimmy Page or any of the ‘70’s guitar gods who dared venture beyond basic three-chord speed and cock rock.”

After leaving Tempest in 2001 Todd released a self-produced solo CD titled “Lines on the Wall” and began to perform as a singer/songwriter. Now living in New York’s Southern Tier, Todd has put together his own rock band “One Click Culture” to perform his original material live.

The music is eclectic, drawing on influences as diverse as Paul Weller, King’s X, Porcupine Tree and Dave Matthews and their live show is dynamic. One Click Culture is now working to create a local fan base in Central New York.
